Refer to: Care & Administration of Homeopathic Medicines (.pdf file) Cats suffer a range of diseases, some similar to those of mankind and some uniquely their own. Cats are very willing and cooperative patients, who respond positively to homeopathic treatment. Cats generally accept being dosed with homeopathic medicines with equanimity. Failing that, the medicines can be supplied in aqueous form, for gentle application to mouth, nose or feet. If a little food is necessary, then the medicines can be put in a small portion of bland food but this is not ideal. They should not be added direct to the normal meal. The process involved in selecting a homeopathic medicine involves an exhaustive enquiry into the lifestyle and environment of the cat (the holistic approach) and sometimes lengthy discussion on the personality, history and general health of the patient, quite apart from the specific complaint that is to be treated.
